To finish off our Active Schools week we had a visit fron our own local Olympician -Carolyn Hayes from Newcastle West who took part in the 2020 Olympics in Toyoko,Japan in the triathlon event. She was so interesting to listen to and an inspiration to us all in her talk about her Olympian journey.
First Class had great fun this week participating in the various activities that had been organised by the Active School Commitee.

The lovely Karl Henry has recoded a video of himself for our school wishing us luck for the week and giving a challenge for students and teachers to do jumping Jacks.
The Department of Education and Skills and Healthy Ireland encourage ALL schools to organise an Active School Week (ASW) as part of their annual school calendar.
Active School week is a very significant week in our school calendar. Active School week is packed full of fun activities and sports for all age groups and abilities. Our Active School Week took Place this year from the 30th May- 2nd of June. It was a great success. We already cannot wait for next years Active week.
